In Genesis 13, Abraham encounters strife with his nephew Lot as the snakes he picked up in Egypt start to come out of the moneybags he had received from Pharaoh by means of deceit and trickery.
But Abraham finally gets a response from God due to his humble obedience in giving Lot first choice of the land, building upon his former promises given to Abram concerning his inheritance in the Land of Canaan.
